Global Hotel Bookings Rocket 25% in First 2 Months of the Year

Global hotel bookings rose by 25%, year-on-year, across January and February.

That is according to Dubai-based leisure accommodation wholesale specialist Yalago – which said it saw the highest level of hotel bookings for the first two months of the year since it was established in 2017. The company is part of Emirates Group.

Maria Del Pozo, Head of Sales Europe at Yalago, commented: “Travel demand is at a high, and travellers are seeking to secure their ideal accommodation and better value further in advance of their journey. This is where Yalago can support global travellers, with increasingly affordable rates across the world’s leading destinations and hotels – and our portfolio only continues to grow.”

The most popular destinations included the UAE, the US, the Maldives, Spain and Thailand; while the most bookings came from people living in the UK, the US, Thailand, Australia and Italy.
