Transport Minister Leo Varadkar will announce within two weeks whether the €3 travel tax will be abolished – but the Irish Times has reported that it will remain until at least spring 2012. “The airlines said the tax was the reason they were cutting routes and capacity, but when it was reduced from €10 to €3 there was only a small improvement,” he said.
