Berlin Airport Flight Departures Grounded Due to Strike Action

All flights due to depart Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) have been cancelled today (Monday April 24) due to strike action.

The warning strike – called by trade union Verdi – relates to working conditions and pay for ground staff covering goods control, passenger control and security staff.

The airport is not officially closed, allowing planes to land. But, landings will be at the discretion of individual airlines.

Further strike action has not been ruled out.
