Loganair, has been announced as the Headline Partner of the Scottish Women in Sport (SWIS) Awards, as it celebrates progress in creating equal opportunities for women across sport and aviation in 2022.
The award ceremony, taking place at the Radisson Blue in Glasgow on the 18th of November, is set to celebrate the best in women’s sport, recognising players and others within the industry across Scotland for their excellence and skill.
The partnership is an obvious fit for Loganair, as the airline has committed to do more to promote diversity and inclusion, both internally and across the UK, as part of its new ‘Flying for All’ initiative. Creating equal opportunities for women is one of three pillars identified as being essential to the staff at Loganair within the Flying for All programme. The airline is proud to have one of the highest ratios of female-to-male pilots in UK aviation.
Loganair, which has introduced several employability initiatives designed to encourage women to begin careers in aviation, hopes that through the partnership with SWIS, it can also encourage more young women to consider a career in sport.
“Creating equal opportunities for women is an issue close to our hearts. We have been working hard to increase the representation of women in aviation, with a particular focus on our flight decks as we know we have a long way to go. We’re delighted to be partnering with Scottish Women in Sport so that together we can further highlight the importance of the need for continual improvement in both aviation and sport on this issue”, said Lyndsay Kennedy, head of HR at Loganair.
