Strike Action Grounds Flights at Major German Airports

Strike action across some of Germany’s major airports has grounded all commercial flights today.

The latest strike action over pay conditions, called by trade union Verdi, affects Hamburg, Bremen and Berlin airports.

“Due to the warning strike by employees at the aviation security controls, no commercial departures will take place at BER today, March 13. Incoming flights may also be affected,” Berlin Airport said in a statement.

Hamburg Airport warned of delayed arrivals and cancellations, while Bremen Airport said no flights would be operating today.
