Three Successive Months of Growth

It has been a great summer at Shannon Airport as we achieved our third successive month of growth, with August passenger numbers increasing by over 4% on the same month last year. Shannon Airport Sign

This follows on from significant increases in June and July of 8% and 9% respectively and is the first time in five years that we experienced growth.

The growth was most apparent in the transatlantic market, with overall passenger throughput arising from the airport’s five US services and one Canadian service, which delivered 38% growth during the peak summer season.

We are delighted to have achieved a third successive month of growth. The figures very much reflect the enhanced level of services delivered at Shannon this year and has helped to address the decline in traffic that was experienced over the past five years.
