Thai Launches Brussels – Bangkok Service

Thai Airways will commence a Brussels – Bangkok service on 17th November 2011 to become the first south-east Asian carrier to serve the EU capital. This was announced today at the opening of the IT&CMA and CTW Asia Pacific MICE and corporate travel event, being attended by Irish Travel Trade News. The event organisers also announced a new IT&CM India event on 21st – 23rd August 2012 at the India Expo Centre & Mart in Delhi NCR.

As part of the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau’s new ‘Believe in Thailand’ campaign, Thailand is bidding to host World Expo 2020 in the ancient capital of Ayuthaya.

This year, Thailand is expected to welcome almost 720,000 MICE visitors to the country, who will participate in meetings and incentives, conventions, and trade fairs, generating expected revenues of 57.6 billion baht (€1.4 billion). MICE travellers to Thailand are projected to increase by more than 75% from 2012 to 2016, with revenues increasing by more than 87%.
