Expo 2020 looks to top 9 million visitors

Expo 2020 in Dubai has welcomed nearly 750,000 visitors since it opened on 1 October.

Around 50,000 guests a day are visiting the show, which means it’s on course to exceed nine million visitors over its six-month run time.

Almost half the visitors have a season pass which allows them multiple visits. So far, over 100,000 have visited the site twice, while over 35,000 have passed through the gates three times or more in the first two weeks.

Expo 2020 Dubai is the largest event ever held in the Arab world, and has drawn visitors from over 181 different nationalities – just 11 less than the total number of 192 national pavilions participating in the show.

The figures include all ticket holders, but exclude representatives, delegations and guests of International Participants, partners and other stakeholders, as well as staff.

Digital Audience

Expo 2020 Dubai’s virtual show has also attracted record numbers, with 9.3m virtual visitors this week alone, up from 7.8m in the first week.

The show runs until March 2022.
