Ronan O’Connor has been appointed development officer for the MacGillycuddy Reeks Mountain Access Forum, which is in charge of facilitating the growing volumes of visitors while also keeping the environmental impact to a minimum.
The Co Kerry mountain range includes a lot of privately-owned land and private farmland.
The development officer post is a three-year job and is funded through the Government, via the Department of Community & Rural Development.
