Royal Caribbean’s ‘Icon of the Seas’ Saves Adrift Sailors off Miami Coast

Royal Caribbean’s new Icon of the Seas ship has come to the rescue of a stranded group of sailors adrift in the Caribbean.

According to Sky News, the ship had recently left Miami en route to Honduras when it came across the small boat in need of help.

The report said Royal’s crew administered medical attention and has been working closely with the US Coast Guard on the matter.

The small boat had been waving a white flag to gain attention, according to the news report, and it quoted Royal Caribbean as saying: “The ship’s crew immediately launched a rescue operation, safely bringing 14 people on board.”
