Watch: Happy New Year from ITTN

Happy New Year everyone, and a happy birthday to us here at ITTN!.

This day last year I officially announced that I had bought ITTN and Business Traveller. I can’t believe it’s been a year already – and boy what a year!

I wanted to share a special thank you to all our friends and readers in the industry, which you can watch below.

Happy New Year!

I’ve been privileged to have Fionn Davenport lead our editorial and news content as Editor in Chief –  and together we’ve grown ITTN from a reach of 100,000 per annum to our current reach of 140,000 per month, making us the leading travel trade platform in the market.

We also invested in a new-look website and a daily newsletter which ensures you are always in the know.  And we proceeded with scaled-down ITTN awards.

Alas, the current state of travel means that we’ve parked Business Traveller for now, but we’ve been busy. We decided instead to invest in an inbound trade and consumer platform which started as ITTN Ireland but was promptly changed to travel2ireland. Under the direction of travel writer Joan Scales, it is fast becoming one of the leading information platforms in the market. We also hosted the first-ever travel2ireland awards!

But it didn’t stop there. I recently purchased Traveltimes which will be a consumer-led travel site that will support suppliers across the country as we return to business. This site will have multiple travel writers, a dedicated travel podcast and weekly industry interviews.

As we look to 2022 I was also delighted to consolidate some personnel changes within the team. Allie Sheehan will take on the role of Business Development Manager. Between us both, we will make sure that we are at the cutting edge of everything that is happening out and about in the industry.

I am thrilled to appoint Shane Cullen to the role of Managing Content Editor. Shane has been running his own business over the past number of years, so he has fresh and exciting ideas to bring to the table which will add an exceptional level of online content to the company.

Finally, to celebrate our first year in business I would like to give you – our valued agents, friends and suppliers, the chance to win a weekend stay in Ireland.

All you have to do is like and share our traveltimes page to be in with a chance to win!

The winner will be announced on the 7th January.
