Tryphavana Cross Elected Chair of Visit USA Committee Ireland

Visit USA has confirmed Tryphavana Cross as the chairperson of the executive board of its Ireland Committee.

The appointment was made following a member vote at the recent Visit USA Committee Ireland annual general meeting, held at Dublin’s Dean Hotel.

Ms Cross is account director with New York City Tourism.

Also, at the meeting, Tara Magee was voted in as vice chairperson of the Committee; previous chair Jenny Rafter from Aer Lingus was voted in as treasurer and Bladhana Richardson, from American Holidays, was voted in as company secretary.

Tryphavana Cross said: “I am delighted to be taking up the role as Chairperson of Visit USA Committee Ireland and look forward to continuing our mission to drive visitation to America. I would also like to thank my predecessor, Jenny Rafter, for all the hard work she has done over the last four years.”

The Irish visitation to the USA has rebounded strongly since the pandemic. This year – 2023 – is on track to see 86% of the passenger numbers of 2019.

All Ireland’s pre-pandemic air routes to the USA have been restored and airlift has started to expand with the introduction of new routes, such as Dublin – Denver. In all, 18 US cities are now served with direct flights from Ireland.
