Shannon Airport was delighted to co-sponsor a lunch recently for travel agents to celebrate the return of the Delta Air Lines seasonal non-stop service between Shannon and New York JFK.
Agents from Limerick, Kerry and Clare attended the lunch at the Cornstore Restaurant in Limerick to hear the latest news on the transatlantic route from Delta Air Lines and Shannon Airport and to celebrate its return for the summer.
Isabel Harrison, B2B Manager, Shannon Airport Aviation Development, said: “The large turnout at the lunch proves there is a big interest in this route. Delta Air Lines has been serving Shannon for the past 29 years and it is a testament to the continued demand that the airline continues to grow at Shannon.
“Shannon Airport is synonymous in the USA as the gateway to the West of Ireland and the Wild Atlantic Way, which is so popular for our US visitors. Our excellent and recently revamped Shannon Duty Free, which is the first in the world, is regularly commented on by our customers as a must do shopping experience when travelling to the USA.
“On top of all this, Shannon’s US pre-clearance facility makes travelling to the States even easier. It has been an important part of Shannon Airport’s identity for the past 27 years, and we are proud of the fact that Shannon was the first airport outside of the Americas to offer the service.”
