South African Airways has launched a new marketing team to raise the airline’s profile in the UK and Ireland, following its decision last August to cancel its direct London Heathrow – Cape Town service, while maintaining its double daily London Heathrow – Johannesburg flights.
Gary Kershaw, UK & Ireland General Manager, has recruited Liam Quinn as Business Development Manager, Jon Danks as Head of Marketing and Communications, Stephen Gerrard as Commercial Manager, and Matt Parr as Leisure Sales Manager. Philip Ariss will be Corporate Sales Manager and Kerry Farmer, with experience at Lastminute.com, will be Online Sales Manager. Gary said: “The new team will be working hard building key relationships with our partners and put SAA firmly back on the map.”
On 8th October 2012, South African Airways confirmed that its Chief Executive, Siza Mzimela, and two general managers, Theunis Potgieter and Sandra Coetzee, had tenderd their resignations.
