Ryanair carried 12.2 million passengers across its route network in January; representing a 3% year-on-year increase.
On a rolling 12-month basis, the airline carried 182.1 million passengers up to the end of last month, which was 10% up on a year-on-year basis.
In January of this year, Ryanair operated more than 71,700 flights. Of that total, more than 950 were cancelled due to the Israel/Gaza conflict.
Just this week, Ryanair announced that it has resumed – on a reduced basis – flights to Tel Aviv from locations around central and eastern Europe.
Load factor, which measures the fullness of planes, was down 2 percentage points at 89% in January, versus the same month last year.
Earlier this week, Ryanair narrowed its full year profit guidance due to a weak third quarter. Its financial year runs to the end of March. However, it still expects to see a 9% increase in passenger numbers for the year to around 183.5 million people.
