Princess Cruises Introduces Biometric Entry on San Diego Sailings

Princess Cruises has partnered with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for biometric entry into the Port of San Diego.

According to Jennifer De La O, CBP Director in San Diego the biometric facial comparison process is secure and contact-less.

San Diego is the latest seaport to streamline the debarkation process.

The process means the passenger’s face is photographed and checked against a passport or visa photograph on file in DHS systems.

Verification takes about two seconds and once it’s done the passenger can proceed to customs and exit the terminal.
