Pat Dawson, Chief Executive, Irish Travel Agents Association, has been appointed to the board of ECTAA, the primary representative of travel agents and tour operators in the European Union. The announcement was made at the 111th semi-annual meeting of ECTAA in Budva Montenegro.
A familiar face in the Irish travel industry, Pat Dawson founded Cork-based travel agency Dawson Travel in 1991. For many years he served on the ITAA board before being appointed President in 2011, he was then appointed Chief Executive in 2012 and continues in this position.
He said: “It’s an honour to be appointed to the board of ECTAA. I look forward to representing the needs and interests of Irish travel agents on a larger scale in the EU.”
Founded in 1961, ECTAA actively co-operates with European institutions and international organisations to ensure that the interests and requirements of travel agents and tour operators are represented and understood.
