Northern Ireland’s major airports have been ranked amongst the best in a UK passenger poll.
City of Derry Airport was ranked best in the UK, while Belfast International Airport ranked 5th.
The survey, conducted by gadget insurer Loveit Coverit, was based on online passenger reviews.
City of Derry got a score of 4.75 out of 5 with one online review stating: “All the staff I came across on my journey yesterday were amazing. I was travelling with 2 kids and a dog so we had lots of stuff. I could not have asked for more kinder, patient, helpful ground, security and airport staff. A big thank you to you all.”
A review about Belfast International posted on Google said: “This is a good airport. The infrastructure is nice and modern, the interior is clean and well-maintained, and there is ample space for sitting around as well as charging outlets for your electronic devices. I love the fact that it is located in a serene environment and is reasonably close to key places in the city centre.”
A spokesperson for Loveit Coverit commented on the study: “The study proves that bigger doesn’t always mean better, as it highlights smaller airports like Derry and Humberside that have managed to shine with outstanding customer experiences, surpassing their larger counterparts.”
