Lufthansa to Scrap 34,000 Flights from Summer 2023 Schedule

Lufthansa is set to cancel at least 34,000 flights from its summer 2023 schedule, due to not having enough staff to meet surging post-Covid passenger demand.

The final tally of lost flights could be more – given the possibility of the action running across the group, which also includes Eurowings, Austrian Airlines, and SWISS.

Last week, Lufthansa flights were delayed and cancelled after an internal IT outage and then, later in the week, via widespread airport worker strike action across most of Germany’s main hubs.
