Travel Counsellors from around the world will come together en masse for the first time since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Taking place this Friday 11th November the three-day conference event in Liverpool will have an emphasis on sustainability.
More than 1,600 delegates are expected at the ACC Liverpool over the weekend, where single-use plastics will be banned. Other pledges include a commitment to producing zero landfill waste and to operating the event on a carbon-neutral basis by offsetting output from the gathering through global sustainability projects.
Cathy Burke, Travel Counsellors’ Managing Director in Ireland, said: “We have a 30+ delegation travelling from Ireland including the head office team and we are excited to all be getting together again after a three-year hiatus, so reconnecting with our colleagues from around the globe will be so exciting and yet emotional”.
“We have a record number of attendees this year including 850 Travel Counsellors who all reflect our ‘All In’ ethos and 300 business partners and other delegates that we work closely with.”
The company will not provide any single-use plastics during the event, using Vegware and eGreen for smart packaging and tableware. All waste produced will be directed away from landfill through reuse, recycling, and composting, or by being sent to energy recovery.
