  1. It is with sadness that I heard of the passing of one of life’s gentlemen, John Coughlan. He always called into the offices unannounced in London to sell me, and a great many others as well I know, advertising space! Anyone else would have been told their fortune (!), but it was always impossible not to make time for John. This was down to these visits always being peppered with stories about new destinations that he had been to and observations about the industry that we all work in. In fact I was wondering the other day why he hadn’t been in and now sadly that is explained. May he rest in peace.

  2. Very sad to hear this. I met John on a press trip to Turkey a few years ago. Great guy with a warm, wonderful personality. RIP, John.
