The number of Irish visitors to the USA in 2014 totalled 395,037, an increase of 7.6 per cent, according to figures released yesterday by the National Travel & Tourism Office of the US Department of Commerce.
Meanwhile, international non-stop air traffic to/from the USA in January 2015 totalled 16.1 million passengers, a 5.4 per cent increase over January 2014.
The NTTO earlier announced that international visitors spent $222.3 billion experiencing the United States in 2014, an increase of nearly 4 per cent when compared to the previous year. Conversely, Americans spent an estimated $146.7 billion aboard, resulting in a $75.7 billion balance of trade surplus for the industry in 2014.
