Christmas time is well and truly upon us and Germany  is traditionally the home of the Christmas market. In terms of size and variety the Frankfurt market is one of the most important in Germany.

Many of the stalls are in log cabins that are ornately decorated and there also a fantastic range of local food and drink, including the famous Gluhwein and German sausage. The market is open Monday to Saturday from 10.00 to 21.00hrs and on Sunday from 11.00 to 21.00hrs.

A visit to the 300-year-old ‘honey house’ is an absolute must, located in St Paul’s Square, where the visitor will find many gift ideas made of honey and bees wax, including the special Christmas Honey with cinnamon and cloves.

Lufthansa operates three flights daily from Dublin direct to Frankfurt Main Airport. The first is early in the morning and will give the visitor the benefit of an early arrival into Frankfurt.
