France will lift its travel ban for people arriving from UK from Friday, January 14.
Vaccinated passengers will no longer have to self-isolate on arrival or show proof of essential travel.
Passengers will still need to show a negative Covid test, conducted 24 hours before arrival.
Unvaccinated visitors must provide a negative Covid test (a PCR or antigen test within the 24 hours before travel) and self-isolate for 48 hours.
A welcome decision
France previously introduced a ban on non-essential travel to and from the UK on 18 December, to slow the spread of the Omicron variant.
Julia Simpson, president and CEO of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTCC) has welcomed the decision.
She said: “WTTC welcomes the reopening of French borders to UK travellers. Once a variant is endemic closing borders is pointless and only damages livelihoods especially in travel and tourism one of the hardest hit sectors during the pandemic.
