Fidelma Brady, who joined in 2007, was asked a few questions to find out about life as a Travel Counsellor and what it means to her.
Above, Fidelma highlights ‘The Power of Now’ with Mike Graham, Head of Sales Promotions, and Travel Counsellor Mandy Walsh.
- Why did you decide to join Travel Counsellors?
“It was when my first child was born. I waited so long for her I wanted to be there for all the important milestones in her life, I wanted flexibility and yet still do what I loved: booking holidays and looking after my clients, which I am passionate about. Within my first year as a Travel Counsellor I had two children under 16 months. It was busy, but I knew for me it was a lifelong commitment.”
- How has Travel Counsellors changed your life?
“Having the flexibility to work around my family life is amazing. I work while my children are at school, then I work in the evenings and it suits my clients and myself. I normally take time out in the afternoon to do homework, take the children swimming: the family stuff, but the important stuff!”
- How do you find the support in Travel Counsellors?
“I am never on my own, the support is amazing, from head office in Cork, to our admin, IT and all the other global head office team members based in Manchester and, of course, the other Travel Counsellors in Ireland. Everyone helps everyone, we are all in this together.”
- What do you love most about being a Travel Counsellor?
“I simply love what I do and being a Travel Counsellor means that I can do it better than I ever could before as I have so many wonderful options to offer clients. On top of that I have made the most wonderful friends. I love it!”
- What advice would you give to someone who is considering becoming a Travel Counsellor?
“Think of your long-term goal – success doesn’t happen overnight so be prepared. It may take time to get off the ground, but with hard work and determination you can do it.”
