Family Day Out in Dún Laoghaire on Princess Cruises’ Regal Princess

It was a family affair onboard Regal Princess on Saturday.

Rebecca Kelly, Senior Sales Manager and Zoe Scott, Sales Manager, Princess Cruises UK, were host to over 100 members of the industry and their families.

What started off as a drab and rainy morning soon turned into a music and dance ‘extravaganza’ as the group were welcomed with coffee and cakes and given a snippet of what to expect on one of the broadway style productions in the Princess Theatre. Both the kids and adults were soon clapping and dancing in the aisles to the sound of soul music!

Following the show we made our way across the ship to deck 17 and to ‘Camp Discovery’ to sample what the kids’ clubs onboard Princess are like – and WOW – what a treat. My kids went from ‘I don’t want to go to the kids club‘ to ‘can we stay here another hour.’ All families were gifted a Princess Teddy bear called Stanley and a camp discovery t-shirt. After literally dragging the pair out of the kids club we made for the buffet restaurant where we enjoyed a selection of treats. What really impressed me was that the queuing system was very calm and organised and the staff were exceptionally friendly and so good with the kids.

Afterwards, we made our way out to the pool area, and just in time for the sun! The kids spent at least two hours partying with other kids in the pools and hot tubs before settling down to the Princess classic ‘Movies under the Stars’ where the kids favourite film ‘Lyle, Lyle Crocodile’ enthralled those who were happily snacking on yummy popcorn and ice-cream.

Soon, the day came to an end and it was time to bid goodbye to the team at Princess and the ship.

A short tender back to Dún Laoghaire finished with a promise (to the kids) of a return to Princess Cruises soon!
