Etihad Airways, sponsor of the GAA Hurling All Ireland Senior Championship, has announced the four shortlisted clubs in the search to reward one with the ultimate prize: a year’s sponsorship package with the Abu Dhabi-based airline.
The four shortlisted clubs are:
- Na Piarsaigh, Limerick
- Blackrock, Cork
- St. Judes, Dublin
- Kilanerin, Wexford
The public will now help to decide which club wins the amazing prize by voting for the one they feel deserves to win. To vote the public need to visit etihadgaa.ie.
This vote, along with the views of a panel of judges consisting of Nicky English, Des Cahill and Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh, will decide which club comes away with the ultimate sponsorship package.
The winning club will receive:
- €10,000 cash sponsorship fund
- New branded playing and training kit
- Mentoring, coaching and social visits from key figures inside and outside Hurling
- Regular fundraising prizes such as Etihad Airways flights and Hurling All Ireland Final tickets

The feedback throughout the competition has been immense and shows just what the package will bring to the eventual winner. It’s now up to the four finalist clubs to push forward and win the popular vote, as well as those of the judges, and take home the prize money, kit and many other elements of this wonderful package. Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael Liam Ó Néill urged the four hurling clubs to seize this unique opportunity: “This competition has proven to be an excellent way for Etihad Airways to engage with hurling clubs across Ireland. Raise The Bar has stirred huge interest and vibrancy in our clubs as they look at different ways to demonstrate why they should win, and what they do to stand out from other clubs. Etihad Airways has a rich history in innovative Hurling competitions and “Raise The Bar” follows the successful ‘Best Club Under the Sun’ competition, which last year was won by Clarinbridge GAA Club in Co Galway.
