Emirates already employs over 280 Irish nationals and almost 50 cabin crew were appointed to the airline, following the last round of recruitment days in Ireland, last October. The crew will be based in Dubai, home of Emirates, which employs over 56,000 people worldwide.

Margaret Shannon, Emirates Country Manager Ireland, told ITTN: “This is a great opportunity for anyone based in Ireland looking for an exciting and progressive career with one of the most dynamic airlines in the world. Emirates looks to recruit cabin crew staff in countries like Ireland, where we have a strong hospitality tradition and an innate ability to interact with people, which is essential for the role. Emirates is particularly keen to grow its Irish cabin crew numbers, given the early success of the new Dublin – Dubai route, which was launched just one month ago.”

Applicants for cabin crew positions have to be at least 21 years old at the time of possible recruitment and are requested to bring an up-to-date curriculum vitae (CV) in addition to a full length and head and shoulders photograph. Candidates need to have a minimum arm reach of 212 cm and fluency in written and spoken English. Previous experience in the service or hospitality industries will prove advantageous.

Emirates currently serves 121 cities around the globe with a young, technologically advanced fleet of 169 wide-bodied aircraft that are equipped with industry-leading comforts. Additionally, Emirates has 236 wide-bodied aircraft on order, worth more than US$84 billion, and is the leading customer of the Airbus A380 with 20 in its fleet and 70 on order. It is due to its rapid, dynamic expansion that Emirates is seeking 4,000 new cabin crew this year. Emirates offers diversified job activity onboard with a truly international team: over 12,000 flight attendants, from more than 120 countries, speaking over 50 languages.

Emirates’ Dublin – Dubai route launch has emerged as one of its most successful. The airline recently announced an increase in capacity on the route by over 50% from 1st July 2012, when a Boeing 777 will be deployed, replacing the current A330. In addition to flying passengers to Dubai and onwards to destinations such as Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Bangkok and Cape Town, an additional 10 tonnes of cargo space will be available on each flight, with the B777 carrying up to 25 tonnes.
