It only seemed right and fitting that Emirates chose the VIP area of Cork’s Soho Bar to say ‘thank you’ to Cork travel agents for the business they gave to the award-winning airline during the year.
Emirates celebrated yet another milestone in Ireland last week confirming that it has reached its one millionth customer on the Dublin to Dubai route.
The announcement was made by Emirates country manager for Ireland, Enda Corneille at the Cork evening.
“To celebrate our one millionth passenger is a landmark occasion for us and a remarkable achievement in just four short years following the launch of the only direct service from Dublin to Dubai,” said Enda.
Emirates connects up to 22,000 customers each month to Dubai and onwards to exciting destinations such as Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and China.
In addition, up to 1,500 tonnes of cargo every month is carried around the world and this year the festive cargo leaving Dublin onboard Emirates’ B777’s includes Irish Christmas trees to decorate the world-famous Atlantis the Palm in Dubai; crisps, tea bags, smoked salmon and potatoes for the Irish diaspora in Dubai and Irish chocolates to India.
