Aer Lingus has now commenced non-stop flights from Dublin to Bradley International Airport in Hartford, Connecticut, USA. Connecticut is located halfway between between New York City and Boston and is the most southern New England State. An industry delegation from Connecticut, in association with Aer Lingus, ran an informative workshop for the trade in Dublin’s Westbury Hotel.
It has been said that Connecticut offers a perfect blend of experiences in one perfectly located place.
This destination has so much to offer the Irish visitor, such as the hiking and biking trails that allow the visitor to explore the natural beauty of the State. Then there is the famous Mark Twain House & Museum, which is one of the ‘10 best historic homes in the world’, according to National Geographic. Tours of this historic home are available year-round.
Located on the scenic Mystic River, Mystic Seaport is home to four National Historic Landmark vessels, including the 1841 Charles W. Morgan, the last wooden whale ship in the world.
No trip to Connecticut would be complete without a visit to Yale University Art Gallery, founded in 1832 and which today is one of the largest museums in the USA, holding more than 200,000 objects. Galleries showcase artwork from ancient times to the present, including vessels from the Tang dynasty, treasures of American art, masks from Western Africa, and masterworks by Degas, van Gogh and Picasso. Admission is free and open to the public.
There are now four Aer Lingus non-stop flights per week from Dublin to Hartford, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The aircraft is a B757 in a two-class configuration of Business Class and Economy Class, and the flights have US pre-clearance at Dublin Airport.
