Clayton and Maldron Hotels Owner Speaks of ‘Very Bright Future’ Ahead

The owner of the Clayton and Maldron hotel chains has said it is optimistic for the upcoming summer tourist season and anticipates “a very bright future”.

At the end of February, Dalata Hotel Group reported a return to annual profitability for the first time since before the Covid crisis, and record revenues which exceeded €500m for the first time.

Dalata Hotel Group chairman John Hennessy told shareholders at the group’s AGM in Dublin, today: “As we look ahead, we are optimistic for the summer months buoyed by the rebound in international travel, conferences and sustained domestic tourism.”

“Dalata has emerged from two difficult years and has resumed the growth and success that have characterised the business since its inception. We will continue this growth in our target markets in the coming years. We are committed to upholding our responsibilities to the environment, to the communities in which we operate, to our customers, employees, shareholders and to all other stakeholders. Although there are many challenges ahead, we see a very bright future for our business,” Mr Hennessy said.

Dalata operates across Ireland, the UK and Germany. It currently has a number of new openings and refurbishments in Ireland and the UK in the pipeline.
