Ambassador Cruise Line Cancels Canary Islands Christmas cruise

UK cruise company Ambassador has cancelled a second of its planned Christmas cruises, according to reports.

The company has, apparently, offered refunds to customers after cancelling a Christmas cruise from the UK to the Canary Islands because of safety issues with its lifeboat station.

It follows a previous cancellation of Ambassador’s three-night Christmas markets cruise, reports said.

The relevant ship, the Ambassador Ambience, is being repaired in Germany, reports said.

Last month, Ambassador unveiled plans to sail from Belfast in 2023, as well as from a host of ports around Britain.

The company – which has London Tilbury as its home port – is the first cruise line to launch in the UK in a decade and is also planning to make its debut sailing in Australia in 2024.

Ambassador currently sails from London on cruises through the Mediterranean, Arctic and the Canary Islands, as well as around Britain.

It said it plans to also sail from six additional ports next year – namely Belfast, Bristol, Dundee, Newcastle, Falmouth and Liverpool.
