Amadeus Partners with Taxera Technologies to Ease Burden of e-Invoicing on Travel Agents

Travel technology company Amadeus has partnered with Swiss company Taxera Technologies, a next-generation global tax compliance platform, to make life easier for travel sellers by automating and standardising back-office procedures.

The agreement will see e-Invoice technology shared to travel sellers worldwide, offering access to streamlined, secure and automated processes.

The solution is expected to become increasingly valuable as e-Invoicing becomes mandatory in the EU, and increases its footprint around the world in the coming years. When fully deployed, travel sellers, including those utilising Amadeus Agency Manager and Amadeus Gestour, will be able to reallocate time from administrative tasks to commercial priorities.

Starting this year, e-invoicing will become mandatory in many markets. Under the VAT in the Digital Age (ViDA) plans from the EU, for example, e-invoices are now permitted to be issued in compliance with new standards.

Stephanie Madee, VP Product Management, Travel Office IT products, Amadeus said: “The new collaboration between Amadeus and Taxera marks a significant step forward in our commitment to providing advanced, efficient and comprehensive services to our partners, worldwide. Thanks to this automated technology, travel sellers will be able to concentrate on offering personalised services to customers, safe in the knowledge invoice administration will be streamlined.”

Paul Antunes, Managing Partner, Taxera, said: “The partnership between our organisation and Amadeus will allow customers to benefit from an integration between two state-of-the-art companies, each a specialist in its own area of operations. Moving forward, there will be fewer worries about e-invoice reporting, validation or formats for travel sellers, the process will be taken care of with the new offering.”
