EXPLORA III Granted Highest Environmental Sustainability Certification

Explora Journeys’ third ship – EXPLORA III – which is set for delivery in 2026 has been designated ‘Green Plus’ by RINA.

This is the highest level of environmental sustainability approval the certification body awards ships.

Explora Journeys – which is the luxury ocean cruise division of MSC Cruises – has just formally celebrated the naming ceremony for its EXPLORA II ship, this week.

EXPLORA III will come in two years’ time and will be followed by EXPLORA IV and EXPLORA V in 2027 and EXPLORA VI in 2028.

All Explora’s ships feature modern environmental and marine technologies, including selective catalytic reduction systems, shore power plug-in connectivity, underwater noise management systems to protect marine life, and a comprehensive range of onboard energy-efficient equipment designed to optimise engine use and reduce emissions.
