Fáilte Ireland’s Interim Chairperson, Tom Coughlan, together with the entire Authority (Board) of Fáilte Ireland and the senior management team, gathered in Slane Castle, Co Meath on Thursday 28th September, for the organisation’s quarterly Authority meeting.
A number of tourism businesses from the Ireland’s Ancient East region, as well as Local Authority representatives from Meath and Louth, were invited to brief the Authority members on their season to date and their future business plans.
Fáilte Ireland’s Authority members also had the opportunity to see first-hand one of Meath’s most iconic visitor attractions, the Brú na Bóinne visitor centre.
Built 3,000 years before the Egyptian pyramids and 1,000 years before Stonehenge, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Brú na Bóinne is one of the world’s most important pre-historic landscapes and a must-visit destination in Ireland’s Ancient East.
