Intense Heat Recorded in Parts of Spain

Travellers to parts of Spain this May should make sure to take the factor 50.

Hot air coming in from North Africa is creating a record-breaking heatwave in areas of Spain. The health ministry has issued warnings to tourists and residents who will experience this unusually intense heat.

Temperatures have soared to over 40 degrees Celsius according to Spanish state weather agency AEMET. Ten regions have issued heat warnings.

The city of Jaén, in the southern region announced this May as its hottest on record at the end of last week.
