Travel Counsellors Ireland will host its biggest annual conference yet this weekend in Stillorgan, Co Dublin, from Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th March. The conference theme, ‘The Difference is You’, highlights each agent’s individual success and continued drive to be the best and to deliver an exceptional level of service to their customers.
The 2012 conference will be held at the Radisson Blu St Helen’s Hotel and will have 40 of the company’s agents plus their partners in attendance along with 34 suppliers – a record number. These include headline sponsor Dubai Tourism along with One & Only Resorts and Atlantis Resorts.
“Despite the reports of doom and gloom in the industry we have had a successful year at Travel Counsellors,” comments Cathy Burke, General Manager of Travel Counsellors Ireland. “The emphasis this year reminds us that being different and standing out from the crowd is what makes each Travel Counsellor so special and very proud of what they do.
“It’s all about working harder, keeping in contact with your customers and making sure you build an emotional attachment with each and every one of them. Our Travel Counsellors do this and that is what sets them apart. They are the crème de la crème of the industry and we are looking forward to thanking them for their hard work and success at our biggest and best conference yet.”
Business Sessions
The event will kick off with a Friday night welcome party, followed by a day of business sessions when the company’s agents, who all run their own travel businesses from home, will hear all the latest news and developments from senior management, including company Chairman and founder David Speakman and Managing Director Steve Byrne.
Premium supplier sponsors of the event will also address delegates during the session, including Blue Insurance, Capella Hotels, DoSomethingDifferent, RCCL and Tourism Authority of Thailand.
Saturday evening will then play host to a glamorous gala dinner and awards ceremony, which will recognise the company’s top performing agents.
Exhibition
The event will also include a ‘Pow Wow’ exhibition, where agents will be able to meet directly with representatives from a host of tourist boards, hotels and airlines, and learn more about their products and destinations.
These include GoHop.ie, who attended the conference last year and saw fantastic results. Stephen Mc Kenna, Commercial Director of GoHop.ie, comments: “GoHop.ie are delighted with the increase in tailor-made business coming from Travel Counsellors following our attendance at last year’s event. The professionalism and duty of care that the company’s agents offer their clients is exceptional and we are delighted to assist them and provide inspirational itineraries to match the service.”
Cathy Burke adds: “The annual conference is a fantastic opportunity for Travel Counsellors to meet up with their fellow agents, as well as head office staff, and to hear about the company’s aims and objectives for the next 12 months in the environment of friendship and mutual respect that makes Travel Counsellors so special.”
