Sunday 27th August has been nominated as the date for the 2017 Travel Trade Family Fun Day & BBQ enjoyed for the past few years by the Irish travel industry, and the event will again take place at Wanderers Football Club, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4.
Following the success of last year, when over €60,000 was raised and delivered to the nominated charities, all work is under way in arranging a repeat of this popular event. The tried and trusted 5-A-Side football tournament is a feature of the day, alongside the traditional egg and spoon, sack race and a variety of ‘things’ blown up to bounce on!
“Right now we are pulling in all resources to help get everything in place with sponsors and event management, but we are positive as ever for the day to be brilliant,” said John Grehan, 2017 Chairperson. “We have changed little to the best parts of the day but will be announcing some exciting news about new additions in the coming weeks.”
The committee had some changes to allow those that have done sterling work over the years to ‘take a break’ from the commitment, but Rhona McCann of FCm Travel Solutions, Sharon Lynch of Travelport, and Kristin Skinner of American Holidays remain alongside John Grehan of G Adventures, while new faces include Paulette Moran of Bizex, Jason Kearns of Hertz, and Geraldine Hurley of Cassidy Travel have joined the ranks.
Fiona Foster, Sharon Jordan, Philip Airey and Ciaran Mulligan continue to support the committee and the cause itself.
