American Offers Samsung Tablets in Premium Cabins

Passengers onboard selected flights in American Airlines premium class cabins are now offered a customised Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1” screen tablet for access to a library of inflight entertainment options.

The tablets are provided on international flights to and from Europe and South America served with B767-300 aircraft, transcontinental US flights from New York JFK and Miami to Los Angeles and San Francisco served with B767-200s and B767-300s, and B757 Boston – Los Angeles flights.

Passengers can choose from over 70 movies, including 30 new releases, with three titles exclusive to American from Paramount, as well as a variety of television programmes and audio selections.

The tablets have a special touchscreen specifically designed for American that allows passengers to interact with the devices in a user-friendly way. Additional tablet functionality and content will be rolled out over time, beginning in 1Q2012, and will include wi-fi capability on equipped aircraft, games, eReader publications, and more.
