As part of its 50th anniversary celebrations, Irish Travel Trade News introduced the ITTN Industry Achievement Award to honour the innovation and contribution to the Irish travel industry made by an individual.

Sponsors of the 23rd Irish Travel Trade Awards were invited to nominate their candidate for the award and to provide a brief statement on his or her achievements. ITTN also made nominations.

The resulting shortlist of candidates was then sent to each nominator, who each sent their first, second and third nominations directly to Stephen Murray of international accountants and consultants Grant Thornton.

Grant Thornton then allocated three points to first nominations, two points to second nominations, and one point to third nominations, with the candidate who received the most points being declared the award winner.
