Supplier Spotlight: Build Your Perfect Camino On Follow The Camino’s New Website

Did you know that more than 446,000 people walked the Camino to Santiago de Compostela in 2023? The word is out on the magic of the Camino de Santiago, and so far, to 31 August, 353,000+ pilgrims have embarked on an adventure.

But with so many travelling the same Camino routes, can you hike this iconic trail and have a travel experience uniquely your own?

An expert tour operator like Follow the Camino can make that happen. With a dedicated Camino planner, it’s simple to customise a walking holiday to suit your needs. That’s why Follow the Camino is excited to launch a new website offering clients a seamless user experience, with access to more relevant data on our walking routes, and faster and easier bookings.

This website revamp comes after a long period of gathering client feedback on their experience researching and booking a walking holiday with Follow the Camino. Why did we choose to wait and spearhead this process with direct user feedback? Because we treat our clients the same way we would want to be treated when booking a dream walking holiday

Because we have 17+ years of experience organising tours of the Camino, we know what questions people normally ask: “Which trip is easiest?”; “What is the weather like in May?”; “Are there any steep sections?”. We want to give our clients access to all of this information and more before the booking stage, allowing them to compare different Camino routes so they know what to expect and can make a well-informed decision on what is right for them.

The first of the web updates was improving long-standing features such as:

We reduced load times for these features and improved the user experience, as well as adding this information to the webpage of each Camino route. This makes it easier for clients to decide which Camino is suitable for their preferred weather conditions and level of fitness.

We also integrated several new components into the website

  • Information about Guided Group Tours across relevant route webpages
  • Details on the seasonal popularity of each Camino route
  • A new tab on the home page to explore recently added walking tours

These features were developed to improve the customer journey across the website and to make it simpler for people to plan a Camino experience tailored to their ideal hiking trip.

Umberto di Venosa, CEO & Founder of Follow the Camino, said: “We are thrilled to launch a new website that offers a better user experience. We have put our clients at the forefront of our mind in re-invigorating our website’s identity, giving them access to everything they need to know on the different Camino routes and allowing them to compare different options, so they know what to expect from the outset.”

Always wanted to walk the Camino de Santiago but were never quite sure how to begin putting together the itinerary for where, when, and how you would walk the iconic pilgrimage route? Follow the Camino is here to make that idea a reality.
