Grand Canyon National Park Closes to Overnight Guests for Water Improvement Works

Grand Canyon National Park has temporarily closed to overnight hotel stays due to necessary water supply improvement works.

The works follow a number of significant breaks in the 12.5 mile-long Transcanyon Waterline, which supplies water from the canyon for use in the park.

The park has faced water supply challenges since early July and there, currently, is no water being pumped to large parts of the area.

While there are water restrictions, the park remains open for camping and day use.
