Ireland West Airport Announces Details of 2024 5km Runway Fun Run

Ireland West Airport will host the 2024 edition of its popular annual 5km Runway Fun Run on September 14, at 6:30pm.

This year’s run – in partnership with Portwest – on the runway at Knock, will raise funds for six Irish charities; namely, BUMBLEance, Down Syndrome Ireland (Mayo Branch), ACT for Meningitis, Irish Red Cross and Western Care Association.

Joe Gilmore, Managing Director, Ireland West Airport said: “We are delighted to launch our hugely popular airport runway run for the 7th year. It’s always a fantastic event which raises over €20,000 every year for our charity partners. The airport is delighted to be partnering with six new charities this year, recognising the fantastic work these charities do both in their local communities and beyond. We look forward to welcoming a big crowd to the airport on the 14th of September and in turn to raising significant monies for our six great charities.”

Entry to the event costs €20 per adult and €5 for under-16’s. A special family rate of €40 will be available for families of 2 adults and 2 kids.  All participants will receive a race t-shirt and complimentary car parking and refreshments at the airport will be provided on the day.
