Tourism Ireland has announced a number of changes to its North American marketing team. North America is the island of Ireland’s second largest tourism market that experienced a strong performance in 2012 and delivered almost a million visitors and $1 billion in revenue.
Alison Metcalfe
Alison Metcalfe will take up the position of Head of North America, with effect from 1st June 2013, following an extensive international recruitment process.
Alison has worked with Tourism Ireland and the NITB since 1992, initially in Canada and, since 2007, as Vice President Marketing – USA, where she led the recent USA Review, Make Ireland Jump Out. She previously also worked for VisitBritain (formerly BTA) in London and Portugal.
Billy Condon
Billy Condon will take up the post of Vice President Marketing – USA, with effect from 1st June 2013, to support Alison and the US team in accelerating growth from this important market.
Billy has worked with Tourism Ireland and Bord Fáilte since 1997 in the USA, Australia/New Zealand and Northern Europe, prior to his current role as Head of Southern Europe. He previously also worked with Aer Lingus in the USA and in Britain.
