Lufthansa Claims Over 1 Million Passengers Using its ‘Green Fares’ Options

Lufthansa has claimed that more than 1 million of its passengers have already opted for its new Green Fares flight price offer, just one year after its launch.

The Green Fares option is available across Lufthansa Group’s Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Edelweiss, SWISS, Air Dolomiti and Discover Airlines brands and has proven most popular on routes such as Hamburg-Munich, Zurich-London and Frankfurt-Berlin.

In the first 12 months of the option, around 3% of Lufthansa’s passengers have used the fares, which has contributed to its Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) funding.

The Lufthansa Group has set itself ambitious climate protection goals and aims to achieve a neutral CO₂ balance by 2050. Already by 2030, the Lufthansa Group wants to halve its net CO₂ emissions compared to 2019 through reduction and compensation measures.
