TUI is planning to roll out its new hotel-only booking platform to the UK and Ireland markets.
The holiday booking giant launched the new site in Sweden last year and TUI’s UK and Ireland managing director, Andrew Flintham said the roll-out is in response to consumer demand.
“Customers tell us they want flexibility, ease, choice and simplicity. And, that’s really what is shaping the strategic direction we’re taking the business in now,” he said.
The new hotel booking system will feature around 12,000 hotels across more than 50 destinations and will feature a number of payment options – including a buy now, pay later choice.
TUI will also open the platform to all travel agents, with the company recently saying it would return to selling through third parties – rather than just in-house – to avoid missing out on parts of the market.
