The Spanish Presidency of the European Union was commemorated yesterday 06 July, with an elegant cocktail reception held at the Spanish Embassy in Dublin. The event, organised in the presence of the Minister of State for European Affairs and Minister of State at the Department of Defence, Mr Peter Burke T.D., and His Excellency Mr Ion de la Riva, Ambassador of Spain, brought together distinguished guests from various embassies and members of the Irish Government. This is the fifth time Spain has held the presidency of the European Union.
The event received generous sponsorship from the renowned wines of the Consejo Regulador de Rueda and Consejo Regulador de Rias Baixas.
Two fabulous Spanish musicians, Pilar Paradela and Juan Jose Manzano were playing the harp and Spanish guitar at the event at the residence of the Spanish ambassador.
