Georgia has, today, been acting as global host of this year’s World Tourism Day – the 44th running of the UN’s initiative to mark the global influence of travel and tourism and to highlight its social, cultural and economic importance.
World Tourism Day has been marked on September 27 since 1980.
As the host nation, Georgia will highlight its breathtaking scenery, vibrant culture, and dedication to sustainable practices.
The theme of this year’s commemoration has been sustainable tourism and the understanding of different cultures to foster global peace.
