Spain’s World Tapas Day on Thursday 15th June coincided with Taste of Dublin at the Iveagh Gardens, Dublin, so hosting the Spanish pavilion were (above) H.E. Jose Maria Rodriquez Coso, Spanish Ambassador; Teresa Gancedo, Director, Spanish Tourist Office; Rafael Soriano, Deputy Head of Mission, Spanish Embassy; and Kathryn MacDonnell, Travel Trade Manager, Spanish Tourist Office.
The Spanish Tourist Office took the opportunity to bring in two top chefs, Manu Liria and Pedro Santana, for a Spanish cookery demonstration that was well received by the Dublin audience.
Hospitality was the bye word for the day and Spain was to the fore with excellent wines from Lanzarote, along with delicious tapas that went down really well.
Meanwhile, Celebrity Cruises was the gracious host at the Taittinger/ Celebrity Cruises VIP Suite where Lorraine Quinn and Kirsten Genard made sure all their guests were well looked after with beautiful canapes and great Taittinger champagne.
Thailand was also well represented at Taste by Kannika Mac and Sakuntala Rattanasriampaipong, who were looking after the substantial Amazing Thailand pavilion, where much interest in the country and its cuisine was shown by the public.
The sun shone and it was a great day to start a most enjoyable event.
