A team of Travel Counsellors has just returned from an unforgettable trip to Cancun in Mexico after winning the company’s recent sales incentive challenge. The company launched a competition earlier this year that saw its agents divided into teams, competing against each other in various challenges to secure the most bookings.
The lucky team of agents jetted off for five days to experience an array of accommodation, activities and iconic sights across the breath-taking destination. The trip was hosted in partnership with AF/KLM/Delta and AMResorts and included visits to all properties in the Dreams, Secrets, Now and Zoetry suite of products. The agents also visited Tulum Ruins and the resort of Puerto Del Carmen and all enjoyed the unique offerings of this destination, ranging from the decadent nightclub Coco Bongos to the challenging underground cave swimming in the majestic archeological park Xcaret.
Trim-based Travel Counsellor Mandy Walsh, one of the lucky agents on the trip, said: “I could never have imagined the wonderful trip I had. It was like going on a trip of a lifetime with your best friends and to meet and get to know my fellow team members properly was such a pleasure.
“The competition was a great idea and really kept all of us motivated and working hard for sales, and through hard work, determination and working well as a team we proved anyone can win it. I cannot thank AF/KLM/Delta enough for their hospitality, along with our return flights and all the fantastic accommodation we experienced during the trip. We all have some great memories to treasure forever and I feel proud to be part of such a special company.”
The competition is one of a number of fun incentives that Travel Counsellors has organised for its agents in order to keep them motivated and focused on driving their business forward, including global team challenges with the company’s worldwide team of Travel Counsellors. Agents are able to communicate with one another via an internal webcam and instant messaging system, as well as having access to global message boards where they can ask advice, feedback and have general chat with fellow agents.
Fidelma Brady from Drogheda said: “It is so much easier to sell a destination once you have been and since I have come home I have confirmed four honeymoons, all travelling to Cancun and flying as we did via Paris with Air France and home with Delta Air Lines.”
Bernie Whelan, Business Development Manager for Travel Counsellors Ireland, said: “The competition was a great success and proved a fantastic way to encourage our Travel Counsellors to get those all-important sales while having fun and creating a strong sense of camaraderie.
“As a company we are firm believers in the fact that you can’t beat first-hand experience of a destination. We encourage all our Travel Counsellors to go on educationals so that they can give the best possible service to their clients.”
